liquorish - with a small 'l' - is one of the bars putting SE22's Lordship Lane firmly on the drinking map, and with more than a little panache.
At this chic cocktail bar, bare bulbs hang from the ceiling in ranges of size, shape and colour. The bar area is uncluttered and stylish with a warm, friendly vibe: hip, but not taking itself too seriously. DJs mix soul, hip-hop, house and world beats on Friday and Saturday nights, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
I was delighted and refreshed by the Rishchampagne – a sexy little combination of Stoli vodka, raspberry puree, orange juice and champagne – and also managed to knock back a Honey Pie or two – honey vodka, Drambuie, apricot liquor, orange bitters and apple juice. There are 23 cocktails to choose from, including Ginquila, Wibble, Swan Song and English Summer, all priced at a reasonable £6 a glass.
The wine list is without blemish, with all the favourites – Pinot Grigio, Chablis, Merlot, Cabernet and Shiraz – present. I didn’t taste every one, but friends assured me all were extremely palatable.
For food, organic and locally sourced ingredients are used where possible. The Greek salad was full of flavour, the sirloin steak with chunky home-made chips divine. As for the sticky toffee pudding, let’s just say I was in gastro heaven. (Updated 27/04/2005)

Customer Reviews for liquorish
“Went to Liquorish for a first date. Interesting bar, looks like it belongs in the West End rather than Dulwich. Cocktails, a sambuca Mojito and a raspberry and berry caipirinha were well-made and seemed well priced. I wasn't keen on the restaurant tables being sat right next to the comfy sofas next to them, what's that about?! Also there didn't seem to be enough 'focal points' bar some arty photos on the wall. For a Thursday night too I was quite disappointed, this place was quite empty. However, as it's near, I would try it again. Impressive for what it is, but afraid I'd have to stick to Soho/Shoreditch.”

“Definitely one of the coolest bars in E Dulwich. Great atmosphere, nice food and wicked cocktails. Try the apple & raspberry caipirinha.. almost like in Rio!”

“A tad pretentious and Clapham-lite, but good cocktails. Nice food too, though I agree with an earlier review that they should restrict the seating for the restaurant to the day only, as there's not enough seats otherwise. ”

“This place is really something. We have lived in East Dulwich for 5 years and have at last got a bar to rival the best bars of London on our doorstep. Check it out.”
