Barrio North cocktail bar is Essex Road’s den of iniquity. With a caravan inside. This north-London neighbourhood haunt, with a Hispanic ghetto theme, offers up an awesome array of cocktails and sweet beats until the wee small hours. Amigo Hour specials take place from 5-8pm daily and the lovingly cup-up and customised caravan (who was rescued from an unloved eBay wilderness) is available to hire for up to 15 rowdy guests. Barrio North is less about lounging around supping cocktails, and more about getting your samba on until your feet bleed. (Updated 01/02/2013)

“I've been checking out barrio since it opened and it's really good to start seeing someone stepping up to the mark in islington and playing some good music. If you know anything about the Latin, funk, soul hip hop scene then you need to check this out, i've just seen on their website that they've hooked up with Mr. Bongo records from Brighton and the Breakin Bread guys, as a DJ myself i can safely say this is the choice for all you beat connoisseurs.”
