“i came here on a date and it was perfect for the first date nerves! the music was lively and the service was good. some of the tapas were quite expensive though and they forgot to bring one of the dishes i requested. all in all though, a good night and it's also really busy... so enough to distract us a little at those awkward moments of silence.”

“I don't know what the other reviews are talking about, but our night out at the Bluebird was fantastic. Started with cocktails in the bar. Seriously good, best I've had in a long time. Great service too. The buzz on a Thursday was excellent, with dinner to follow in the adjoining restaurant. Food was good too, conventional British fare. Didn't blow me away, but still very enjoyable. Back to the bar for a last drink was the highlight of a great evening.”

“It was definitelly a night to remember. A good looking man asked me for a drink on the 25th of february there. Sadly i said no for some reason. Anyways, if u read this I would love to see you again :)
Great atmosphere, great cocktails. The waiter wasn't too friendly.
I couldn't really hear the music but it was still pretty early (around 21.00).
Definitely will be back.”

“This is the best salsa bar i have been to!! It had a hell of a lot to do with the people though. A very mixed group of people who all like to dance and have FUN. I had so much fun dancing with everyone - i am still buzzed out! the drinks were well priced and generous too. Loved it.”

“I've been to The Loft a few times since moving to Clapham and decided to try out the free booking service for my birthday party last weekend. There were about 20 of us and we were given a massive area with really comfy sofas and lots of room. The music was great, everyone had a brilliant time and we didn't even need to go to the bar to order our drinks thanks to the very helpful waitress who made sure our glasses were always full. Fully reccommend this place either as one on the list of a bar crawl around Clapham or as somewhere to spend the whole evening. Thanks for a brilliant Birthday Party!”

“The staff was awful: rude and obnoxious. Bouncers made the evening really miserable by being rude and condescending to all who entered including me. Completely unwarranted for such a small unremarkable club! Shame, had the staff been pleasant the evening would have been rather lovely!”

“I had my birthday party here in early Feb 2010, having never been here before and nervously booked a seated area (for free) for my friends and I. We were all thrilled with the bar - the sofa area they had given us was perfect, the service was faultless all night with super-friendly waitress and no-nonsense approach. And the atmosphere (particularly for Clapham on a Friday night) was really great - not too cheesy or sleazy - great for a birthday party. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone wanting similar - chilled, cool surroundings with great, accommodating atmosphere...Thanks so much, Andrea”

“I went to a cocktail class here for a friends birthday - really great fun! It was a real treat to get to learn how to make cocktails rather than just drinking them. They also gave us some food to snack on through the class. After my friend had reserved the big red sofas so we spent the rest of the evening there and had a great night!”

“Blacks was until quite recently a haven of civilised conversation. In the last 6 months it has become dominated by a loud crowd in large groups of what the Italian owner might call 'mal educatti', but presumably it is what he wants. Please, Moira and Giuseppe, review your policies. Make a return to the cell phone free, quiet and considered behaviour once required of your members, or lose the very people it was created for!”

“I can't believe it! We managed to have a meal for £15 each.....i went with my bf and we had 3 courses each, it was meditteranean-eastern type food...we were both really happy with the service and there was live music also
I hadn't been there before but i'll definitely go back, probably get a few of us to go there as the value for money for food was amazing.
I'd recommend getting wine if you're drinking for value for money”

“Peacocks is the place for the open-minded & up for it party crowd if my visit for my sister's 30th on Sat was anything to go by.
The night started off all civilised at 7.30 & the venue is gorgeous. The cocktails (241 b4 8pm) & buffet were excellent too albeit perhaps a bit expensive at least for a poor student like me but big sis was paying so was fine!
By 9pm the venue was heaving & at least half the groups were in fancy dress - anything from Guys & Dolls to 30s burlesque gear. All the staff are dressed up in white tie or 30s evening dresses too.
The shows are quite extraordinary with an Amy Winehouse in drag who spent most of the time insulting the audience & the poor volunteers foolish enough to go on stage which was hilarious. In fact getting people to go on stage seems to be the big thing here - so beware audience participation is often required especially if sitting near stage.
By the time the shows were over the whole place was jumping & the cheesy disco went down”

“I visited hush on the recommendation of an old friend (who considers herself a bit of a know it all when it comes to restuarants) and had the best time!
The food here is amazing - just the kind a treat I want when visiting the big smoke. I can't wait until my next trip into town - i'll certainly be eating here again! x”
